As part of the Education and Demonstration Team Mark and Upton provide an interesting and interactive visual demonstration on the way the charity Guide Dogs trains the guide dogs of the future.
You may have the opportunity to take a walk in a blindfold and be guided by a demonstration dog.
The aim of the team is to inform and educate about the life changing work of Guide Dogs and to demonstrate the skills the dogs need to give visually impaired people independence and mobility.
The guide dog service receives no government funding so relies on the generosity of donations. Each guide dog costs £57,000, as they cover all costs associated with the dog, from birth to retirement.
Guide dog owners are only asked to pay 50p per dog so there is no financial barrier to owning a dog.
Please do come and say hello and visit their stand where you can meet the dogs.
