Main Arena Acts 2024

We are extremely pleased to say the following acts will be at the 2024 Show :

Vander – Double Wheel of Death

A brilliant crowd puller and a great feature at any show. The Vander team run, skip, juggle and even go blindfolded on the outside of the wheel during their mesmerising stunt display.  This is a truly adrenalin fueled act that will leave you with your heart in your mouth.   The Vander Wheel of Death (established in 1987) has toured the UK and performed at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Glastonbury etc., and their world tour has taken them to places such as Moscow’s Red Square and the F1 GP in Bahrain.

Paws for Thought Dog Display Team

Providing excellent entertainment for all ages, this “all breeds” team includes a large number of rescue dogs. Be amused by its dog races, fun agility, Police type man work, tricks and exceptional commentary, delivered in a relaxed and entertaining style. As many children as possible are invited into the arena to cheer for their chosen team.    Be amazed by dogs jumping through fire, a Jack Russell ladder walking plus their now famous original back-walking dogs!   Be impressed by the short, snappy obedience routine, which shows what can be done with family pets, which are mostly rescue dogs, performed to accompanying music.

Child and adult participation, including games and tricks is encouraged, culminating in a “meet the dogs and team” session.

The team have appeared at Crufts’, BBC Countryfile Live, Discover Dogs, Pets, Pets, The Pet Show, Animal Road Show, Royal Three Counties, Royal Welsh, Royal Bath & West Show, London Pet Show and similar prestigious events, including numerous TV appearances such as Britain’s Got Talent, Alan Titmarsh show, CBBC Who let the dogs out and about plus Paws in the Park.

Hawkwalk Falconry

With over 26 years experience of working with British birds of prey, Hawkwalk Falconry now pride itself on being one of the only falconers with a wide collection of British birds. Falconry is quintessentially English and the countryside provides a rural and idyllic setting for a bird of prey experience.  They  do flying and static birds of prey demonstrations around the country using a team of British birds of prey and are probably the only display team that does this. A unique and unusual display ranging from a kestrel to a Red Kite, a Merlin to a Buzzard, as well as a pair of barn owls and long eared owls. See these fantastic and beautiful British birds of prey close up on their stand and in the show arena,.

The Band was formed in 1957 by former pipers of the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders. Thus it wears the Cameron of Erracht tartan.

It has an extensive repertoire of Scottish music including Slow Airs, Marches, Strathspeys and Reels which can be arranged to suit any occasion, including processions, marching displays, static shows, and solo performances.
To finance the cost of the uniforms and the practice facilities, the band undertakes a busy programme of engagements at Fetes, Shows, Weddings and Carnivals mostly in and around the Berkshire area. For example, it regularly plays at the carnivals at Wokingham, Maidenhead, Newbury, Crowthorne, and Burnham as well as the Swallowfield Show. In the latter part of the year it plays in the Christmas Street parades in Beaconsfield, Hungerford, and Didcot.

It also travels to more distant parts and for example has played many times in France and Spain, as well as Serbia, Sardinia and Japan, including Verona and Ivrea (Italy), Valreas (France), and Bilbao (Spain).  Each year the band plays at the Royal British Legion’s remembrance day parade in Bracknell with the Pipe major playing the Flowers of the Forest during the laying of the wreaths.  It also supplies solo pipers for special events such as Burns Suppers, Weddings, Birthdays, Parties, Funerals and the New Year celebrations.

Some of the owners will have the chance to chat to the commentator and tell us a few interesting things about their pride and joy. Remember, every classic has a story!
