We are extremely pleased to say the following acts will be at the 2024 Show :
The Black Eagles (Monday only)
A high impact, joyful show that will have people gasping in amazement. The Black Eagles are originally from Tanzania, East Africa, where they learnt their acrobatic skills on the streets of Dar-es-Salaam. They have toured extensively in South Africa at the Brian Boswell Circus, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, before coming to the United Kingdom as the Black Eagles.
Since then they have appeared all over the UK and Europe at festivals such as Womad (UK, Spain and The Canary Islands), Glastonbury Festival, Sidmouth International Festival, The Royal Albert Hall, Canary Wharf, Sunderland Football Stadium (Stadium of Light), The Queen’s Jubilee, Commonwealth Olympics in Manchester, The Slammer (BBC1), Blue Peter and many more.
Vander – Double Wheel of Death
A brilliant crowd puller and a great feature at any show. The Vander team run, skip, juggle and even go blindfolded on the outside of the wheel during their mesmerising stunt display. This is a truly adrenalin fuelled act that will leave you with your heart in your mouth. The Vander Wheel of Death (established in 1987) has toured the UK and performed at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Glastonbury etc., and their world tour has taken them to places such as Moscow’s Red Square and the F1 GP in Bahrain.
Paws for Thought Dog Display Team
Providing excellent entertainment for all ages, this “all breeds” team includes a large number of rescue dogs. Be amused by its dog races, fun agility, Police type man work, tricks and exceptional commentary, delivered in a relaxed and entertaining style. As many children as possible are invited into the arena to cheer for their chosen team. Be amazed by dogs jumping through fire, a Jack Russell ladder walking plus their now famous original back-walking dogs! Be impressed by the short, snappy obedience routine, which shows what can be done with family pets, which are mostly rescue dogs, performed to accompanying music.
Child and adult participation, including games and tricks is encouraged, culminating in a “meet the dogs and team” session.
The team have appeared at Crufts’, BBC Countryfile Live, Discover Dogs, Pets, Pets, The Pet Show, Animal Road Show, Royal Three Counties, Royal Welsh, Royal Bath & West Show, London Pet Show and similar prestigious events, including numerous TV appearances such as Britain’s Got Talent, Alan Titmarsh show, CBBC Who let the dogs out and about plus Paws in the Park.
Reading Scottish Pipe Band – Sunday Only
The Band was formed in 1957 by former pipers of the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders. Thus it wears the Cameron of Erracht tartan.
It has an extensive repertoire of Scottish music including Slow Airs, Marches, Strathspeys and Reels which can be arranged to suit any occasion, including processions, marching displays, static shows, and solo performances.
To finance the cost of the uniforms and the practice facilities, the band undertakes a busy programme of engagements at Fetes, Shows, Weddings and Carnivals mostly in and around the Berkshire area. For example, it regularly plays at the carnivals at Wokingham, Maidenhead, Newbury, Crowthorne, and Burnham as well as the Swallowfield Show. In the latter part of the year it plays in the Christmas Street parades in Beaconsfield, Hungerford, and Didcot.
It also travels to more distant parts and for example has played many times in France and Spain, as well as Serbia, Sardinia and Japan, including Verona and Ivrea (Italy), Valreas (France), and Bilbao (Spain). Each year the band plays at the Royal British Legion’s remembrance day parade in Bracknell with the Pipe major playing the Flowers of the Forest during the laying of the wreaths. It also supplies solo pipers for special events such as Burns Suppers, Weddings, Birthdays, Parties, Funerals and the New Year celebrations.
K & H Falconry (Sunday only)
K & H Falconry is a family run business located in Andover Hampshire, and are extremely dedicated in all aspects of working with their birds.
The friendly and professional team travel all over the UK entertaining the crowds. They have an amazing arrangement of birds for everyone’s taste.
Watch one of the barn owls flying majestically through the air or catch an eagle owl flying from post to post.
K & H Falconry have the most stunning team of falcons that will have you on the edge of your seat as they stoop into the arena at high speed!
The Dolphin Marching Band – Monday Only
The Dolphin Marching Band were formed on 06 June 1996 by the current Bandmaster Chris Godber and the previous Deputy Bandmaster, Graeme Bennett.They are currently planning a trip to Disney World Florida for their 30th Anniversary in 2025. They are a very busy and popular band that travels nationally as well as internationally to attend events. This year they will be performing at many carnivals, Weymouth Armed Force Day Parade and the Jersey Battle of the Flowers.
Classic Wheels
From our expected static display of at least 150 classics we will inviting up to 40 to parade around the arena. There will be a varied mix of cars, motorbikes, tractors and machinery each session. Some of the owners will have the chance to chat to the commentator and tell us a few interesting things about their pride and joy. Remember, every classic has a story!
