We have had some lovely feedback regarding our 2024 food and drink areas and going from the feedback, I think we achieved our aims, which is so fantastic.
We aimed to have something for everyone, so many of us have dietary requirements either from choice or due to health reasons and a good day out can be made not so good if you are unable to find anything to eat, never mind not having a choice of things to eat. With this in mind we planned to have a selection of food and drink choices for everyone no matter what that may be and from the feedback we did what we set out to do.
With Gluten free, Dairy free, Vegetarian, Plant Based and Vegan options, we also had British favourites and food from Nine different countries around the world, a great choice of drinks to suit all. On top of this we had Cheeses, Sauces, Chutneys, Sausages, homemade pies plus delicious desert options such as Cakes, Bakes, Macrons, Ice cream and Portuguese sweet treats, again covering diet restricted visitors, the list just goes on and on.
As with everything there is always room for improvement, and if there was something you would have liked to have seen that wasn’t at the 2023 show, please do let us know, we can be contacted at foodanddrink@swallowfieldshow.co.uk. we can’t promise, but be assured we will try! We love a challenge and there are still a few food types we are trying to bring to the show but just haven’t been able to find yet. We won’t give up, whilst keeping in mind that it’s not only the food types, but the quality that is extremely important to us.
Apart from the choice and quality we aim to have the producers of the entire range of drink and food options, from local bee keepers through to bakers, cider and craft beer brewers, producers of sauces, chutneys and jams, pork farmer, cheese makers etc, all who develop a product that they are proud of, serving you. They tend to be passionate about their products and are generally happy to talk to you about the whole process.
Then we have the stallholders, who buy quality produce and cook it fresh. Once more they are passionate about their products, the origins of which come from far afield, from different cultures within Britain and around the world. This again provides even more variety to the choice and food offerings at the show, adding to our visitors experience of the food and drink areas and enjoyment of their time at The Swallowfield Show.
We are busy planning the 2025 show and will be getting out and about looking for even more variety for the Food and Drink around the show.
We would love to hear your suggestions and can be contacted at foodanddrink@swallowfieldshow.co.uk including if you are a stallholder who fits the above criteria and would like to be part of our 2025 show.
