Michael Burns-Peake:- a self-taught 21 year old singer songwriter returns to play the Village Green for a 3rd time. Having previously wowed audiences at the show with a mixture of well know covers and his own soulful tracks such as “London” & “Miss You”, his sets are something you don’t want to miss! ( he has now amassed a total of nearly 1/2 a million plays on Spotify), interested hearing what he sounds like, follow this link to find out.
The Rockin’ Rogers:- had lots of feet tapping all around the Village Green last year and even a couple of dancers on the stage! This year they will be playing some of the best fifties and sixties rock’n’roll classics. Their fantastic line-up includes vocals, bass, percussion, harmonica, guitar and piano. It is hard to remain static when these guys strike up the beat. Come and see it, hear it and believe it!
Lenny D aka Mr Wizard:- Samuel Pepys wrote in his diary in 1662 of a puppet show he saw in Covent garden “An Italian puppet play, that is within the rails there, which is very pretty.” He had seen Punchinello who later became Mr Punch.
The show has changed a little since then and it’s been performed on village market days, on street corners and on beaches all around the country and even in Buckingham Palace The Italian puppet play has become a British tradition and Mr Wizard is proud to keep this tradition alive by performing his Punch & Judy show with many of the old traditions and including some modern twists. Don’t miss the chance to join in the fun today.
Mr Wizard will also be performing his family Magic Show for us. Its not just for children, who will love the fun but also for the grown up children who will love seeing the children’s interactions.
Noa :- is a 14 year old singer songwriter from Hurst with a passion for music and art. Since playing for us last year Noa now regularly performs in Maidenhead and has a summer full of exciting events., so we are pleased to be able to invite Noa back for a second year to hear her mixture of covers along with her own compositions such as November Days and You’ve Changed.
The Smartphones Saxophone Band:- So many saxophones! The Smartphones Saxophone Band under the expert direction of Louise Rayner, play everything from Mozart to the Muppets and from Baroque to the Beatles. Regular visitors to The Meadows, surprised shoppers usually end up dancing with their trolleys! Guaranteed to give that feel good feeling you are warmly invited to join in the dancing, singing and conducting!
The Fleet Rock Orchestra:- Formed in January 2023 this multi-instrumentalist group brings together a large number of musicians for weekly jam sessions and occasional local performances, giving players of all ages a reason to pick up their instrument and have fun playing some of their favourite hits. With 4 clarinets, 3 guitars, 3 flutes, 3 saxophones, 3 singers, 1 cello, 1 bass and a drummer their repertoire includes popular rock and pop songs with a ‘big-band’ feel and sound. Everything from Frank Sinatra to Elvis Presley, David Bowie to Adele, all played as you have never heard them before!
The Turn:- are an experienced local 4-piece band, featuring a sensational lead guitarist, excellent 3-part harmonies, and a solid rhythm section. The audience can expect to hear a varied and well-polished performance consisting of classic rock covers of instantly recognisable material, by artists such as Thin Lizzy, Pink Floyd and The Eagles
The Phoenix Ukulele Band:- are a large group of ukulele lovers from all over Berkshire. Meeting in Winnersh and Caversham they have been playing together for over eight years, formerly as No Strings Attached. They love to entertain the local community and regularly gig at local clubs, retirement homes, town centres, fetes and private functions. Phoenix are delighted to be invited back to Swallowfield Show again this year.
